About The Role

We seek a dynamic and versatile individual to join our team as a Database Administrator. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for driving the successful design, implementation, and maintenance of our organization's database systems, ensuring data security, availability, and performance. Technology drives IT22’s future, and as a Database Administrator, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping this future.

Your Responsibilities:

• Database Design: Design and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance database solutions to support the organization's data needs, including schema design and data modeling.
• Performance Optimization: Continuously monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring data retrieval and storage meet or exceed performance standards.
• Security: Implement and maintain database security protocols, including encryption, authentication, and authorization, to protect sensitive data.
• Data Integration: Work closely with data engineering teams to integrate and streamline data flow processes across various data sources.
• Database Administration: Perform routine database maintenance tasks, such as backups, patches, updates, and constant monitoring.
• Debugging and Troubleshooting: Constantly monitor database performance and address issues as they arise. Debug and resolve database-related problems to ensure smooth operation.
• Architecture: Utilise experience in multi-instance or /multi-tenant architecture to design and manage databases for shared data environments.
• Data-intensive Database: Work with data-intensive databases with high read and write demands, optimizing data access for efficiency.
• IoT Device Data: Leverage experience with IoT device data, efficiently handling large volumes of time-series data.
• Data Governance: Implement and enforce data governance best practices, data quality standards, and compliance requirements.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members and database administrators.

Personal Profile:

• 3 plus years of proven experience in database architecture, design, administration, and constant monitoring and debugging.
• Proficiency in database management systems such as NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with database security, encryption, and compliance standards.
• Must have proven experience in MongoDB.
• Exposure to Apache Cassandra, CouchDB, and Influx Data databases is a plus.
• Experience with the RDBMS database is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Self-motivated, driven, and proactive; able to acclimate in a very fast-paced environment.
