About The Job

IT22 is looking for a proactive and dynamic Cloud Engineer to join our diverse team of engineers. In this role, you’ll be responsible for collaborating with software developers, system operators, and other engineering team members to manage code releases.

Your Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure in line with organisational needs.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain virtual machines, containers, and other cloud resources.
• Provision and de-provision of cloud resources as needed, optimizing resource utilization.
• Implement and maintain security measures to safeguard cloud resources and data.
• Monitor cloud infrastructure for performance issues and bottlenecks.
• Optimise resource utilization and troubleshoot performance problems.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and workflows to streamline cloud operations.
• Implement orchestration for managing complex, multi-tier applications.
• Configure and maintain high-availability solutions to ensure service continuity.
• Develop and test disaster recovery plans for cloud resources.
• Plan for and implement scalable cloud solutions to accommodate growing workloads.
• Automate scaling processes based on demand.
• Monitor and control cloud infrastructure costs, optimising spending.
• Analyse usage patterns and recommend cost-saving measures.
• Backup and Data Management.
• Patch Management.
• Collaboration and Documentation.
• Participate in incident response and resolution for cloud-related issues.
• Develop procedures for handling incidents in the cloud environment.
• Scripting and Coding.
• Performance Testing.
• Troubleshooting.
• Plan and execute regular disaster recovery testing to validate recovery procedures.

Qualifications:

• At least 6 months of experience as a Cloud Engineer.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar relevant degree.
• Working knowledge of the following: Linux Administration, Networking, Cloud (AWS, AZURE, GCP), Virtualization, Experience with Container services (Docker), Kubernetes cluster, Bash Scripting, Ansible Automation Platform, Terraform.
• Programming fundamentals.
• Strong problem-solving.
• Good communication skills.
